Mechanical Designer

C&D Automated Systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team focused on the design and development of custom automated equipment. The ideal candidate is proficient in SolidWorks and DraftSight, has strong mechanical design experience, and thrives in fast paced, and creative environments. You will play a key role in turning concepts into reality, working collaboratively with engineers, sales representatives, and purchasing personal to bring innovative solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop custom mechanical systems and components for automated equipment

- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and DraftSight

- Generate BOMs and documentation for manufacturing and assembly

- Apply creative problem-solving to meet functional, cost, and timeline requirements

- Work with purchasing team to specify and source appropriate components and materials

- Participate in design reviews and provide input to continuously improve design practices

- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and safety requirements

Requirements:

- Proficiency in SolidWorks and DraftSight.

- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and materials.

- Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative, practical solutions.

- Highly motivated, responsible, and capable of working individually or as part of a team.

- Knowledge of pneumatics, motion systems, and electrical integration is a plus.
