Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tenant services of a marina which is located on the Ballard waterfront in Seattle, WA. Collaborating with the director of finance and property manager, this position plays a critical role in assisting with the operational management of a 230-slip marina, associated storage units, and kayak storage. The role requires high diligence in interactions with tenants, administrative office tasks, and operational aspects of the marina infrastructure.

Boating experience is strongly preferred to ensure operational efficiency and safety in all aspects marina operations. The position is on-site from the marina office Tuesday through Saturday with hours of 8am to 5pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tenant relations and marina operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Maintains high-level of tenant service to maintain a high occupancy of a quality tenant community.

Assist in preparing and processing leases for moorage and storage.

Assist with move-in and move-out procedures,

Responsible for all office and administrative tasks performed at the marina office.

Assists property manager in vendor management related to operations and projects.

Works with finance to provide feedback on monthly P&L reports.

Work with finance, and legal to contact tenants with past-due balances via phone, email and written (typically weekly).

Take responsibility for the emergency phone two weeks each month.

Perform daily walks of the marina, ensuring all maintenance is satisfactory.

Handle moderate physical tasks as required.

Must be comfortable around the water in all types of weather conditions. Wearing a life jacket on the docks may be required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requires effective communication skills with emphasis on sales and tenant relations.

Knowledge and experience with Windows, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), is necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Marina /boating experience is not required, but highly recommended.

A degree in a business subject is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine written reports and correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to tenants, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages, as well as effectively calculate tenant leases, statements, etc.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems, prioritize customer service issues and solutions. Ability to work independently to complete tasks and work in a timely manner.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.

WA State Boater Education Card is a plus.
