AECOM is currently seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team and support aviation design management at our Roanoke, VA location. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable design solutions that meet the needs of our clients and the communities we serve.Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineerGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined proceduresWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple testsProposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignmentsIdentifies discrepancies in resultsProvides guidance to entry level engineersPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervisionIndependently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering worksPerformance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional positionDevelops and reviews structural calculations for various building components and systemsPrepares and reviews structural drawings and specifications for construction documentsCoordinates with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutionsConducts site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progressParticipates in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutionsStays current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies in structural engineeringAssists in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for structural engineering projects
