We are a small, locally owned landscaping and gardening company based in Virginia, currently looking to hire both a Part-Time Gardener and a Full-Time Landscape Labourer to join our growing team. If you’re someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in doing hands-on, physical work, and appreciates the satisfaction of transforming outdoor spaces, this could be the opportunity for you. Whether you're an experienced gardener looking for part-time seasonal work or a hardworking labourer ready for a full-time position in landscaping, we encourage you to reach out.
For the Part-Time Gardener role, we are seeking someone with a good working knowledge of plants that are common to the Virginia area. You should be comfortable identifying a variety of perennials, annuals, shrubs, and invasive weeds, and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The job includes typical garden maintenance duties such as weeding, using herbicides appropriately, trimming and pruning shrubs and trees, planting, and occasional lifting of soil, tools, or materials. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent kneeling, crouching, and bending for extended periods of time. The position begins as part-time, with flexible hours depending on weather and project needs, but there is potential for the role to grow into a full-time position for the right person. Additional work is available during spring and fall cleanups, and winter snow removal if long-term employment is of interest.
To qualify for this position, you must have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites and pick up supplies when necessary. You’ll need to have your own basic gardening tools, a working cell phone with data, a valid email address, and a bank account for direct deposit. A valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) is required for employment. We're looking for someone who is dependable, punctual, and takes pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
We are also hiring a Full-Time Landscape Labourer for a more physically intensive, full-time position that involves a variety of landscaping tasks. The ideal candidate should have experience working with soil, clay, and basic landscape construction. Your responsibilities will include planting trees and shrubs, laying sod, assisting with demolition and clean-up, hardscaping (such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls), and other physically demanding tasks. You must be comfortable lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and operating basic landscaping tools and machinery.
A major requirement for this position is the ability to drive a truck and trailer confidently and safely. Therefore, you must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. You should also come equipped with your own basic personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, steel-toe boots, and safety glasses. Just like with the gardener role, you’ll need a cell phone with data, an email address, a bank account, and a valid SIN.
We value reliability, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. If you're looking for steady work with a small but professional team, and you're serious about doing quality outdoor work, we'd love to hear from you. To apply, please send us your name, contact number, and a brief description about yourself, your experience, and why you’re interested in one of these roles. Thank you for considering a position with us—we look forward to meeting you!
