Cricut is looking for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for managing and supervising the accounting department's day-to-day operations, including inventory and other tasks as assigned. This may include preparing/reviewing journal entries, building monthly/quarterly reports, and managing the cycle of accounting tasks, including audits, close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting as it pertains to inventory and related reserves, cost of revenue, etc. In this role, you will actively contribute to developing and maintaining strong accounting practices and internal controls critical to Cricut’s ability to scale as a public company. In this role, you will be working with the operations team to support the expansion of the Company’s inventory-related initiatives. If you are excited about making a direct impact at a growing publicly traded company, we want to hear from you!ResponsibilitiesLead all monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory accounting processes: journal entries, reconciliations, reserves, and inventory valuations, ensuring GAAP and SOX compliancePrepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for inventory, reserves, and COGS, ensuring accuracy and complianceAssist in the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial statements, with specific focus on inventory and cost of sales (COS) disclosures and related reporting in accordance with US GAAP and SOX requirements, as well as other assigned areasPerform monthly variance analysis for inventory, cost of revenue, certain operating expense accounts, and gross margin analysisPartner with revenue team on completing and enhancing monthly segmentation reportingDevelop an understanding and expertise of Cricut’s internal controls over inventory and other assigned areas and ensure maintenance and documentation of effective internal controls (including SOX), participating in control testing as neededPartner cross-functionally (operations, IT, procurement, sales/revenue) on inventory projects, system enhancements, and process improvementsFoster a collaborative and productive work environment within the accounting departmentComplete and review balance sheet reconciliationsDocument and define technical processes using accounting guidance from various sources. Write complex accounting memorandums where necessarySupport the internal and external audit by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and implementing audit recommendationsParticipate in ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management
