Position Title: Line Cook

Reports To: Chef / Food & Beverage Manager

Location: St. Thomas Yacht Club

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes for members and guests of the yacht club. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to club recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.

Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station for service.

Assist with banquet functions, private events, and daily dining service.

Ensure proper food handling, storage, and rotation in compliance with health and safety standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and work areas.

Communicate effectively with all staff to ensure smooth service.

Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, as well as inventory management.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred; culinary training a plus.

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and work in a hot environment for extended periods.

Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Perform repetitive tasks such as chopping, lifting, and stirring.
