Position Summary:

The Field Technician / General Laborer supports environmental remediation and construction activities on active project sites. This position involves hands-on field work including soil and groundwater remediation, operation and maintenance (O&M) of groundwater treatment systems, assisting with heavy equipment operations, and performing general site labor. The role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and adhering to strict safety and environmental compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in land remediation activities such as soil excavation, backfilling, grading, and site restoration.

- Support groundwater treatment and monitoring systems, including sampling, system inspections, data collection, and routine maintenance.

- Operate and maintain small tools, pumps, and field monitoring instruments.

- Assist heavy equipment operators with spotting, loading, and material handling.

- Perform general labor tasks such as trenching, pipe installation, dewatering, and site cleanup.

- Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols and use required PPE at all times.

- Record field data and maintain accurate documentation for project reporting.

- Support mobilization and demobilization of field equipment and materials.

- Communicate daily progress and site conditions to supervisors and project managers.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification — or willingness to obtain prior to hire.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.

- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods.

- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Preferred:

- Experience in environmental remediation, construction, or utility work.

- Familiarity with groundwater treatment systems, pumps, and instrumentation.

- Basic mechanical or electrical troubleshooting skills.

- Experience working around heavy equipment and understanding of site safety protocols.
