Transportation Planner - Part-Time

Job Overview:The Transportation Planner will support our AECOM Greater Pennsylvania Planning team within our Transportation business line. The candidate will work under the direction of transportation and environmental planning staff as a highway noise specialist on a part-time basis.The candidate will lead traffic noise impact studies, perform field measurements, analyze data using tools like the FHWA traffic noise model (TNM), and prepare technical reports for transportation projects ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The candidate will also evaluate noise abatement measures, such as noise walls, and communicate findings to the clients in public for transportation projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond.Utilizes a strong understanding of acoustics and noise control principles.Anticipated to operate as a Task Lead and will be responsible for managing several projects simultaneously, while adhering to timelines and budgets.The candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including public officials and community members.Travel throughout the region and potentially the country may be required to visit project sites and/or attend public meetings.
