ABOUT THE JOB: We are looking for passionate and reliable coaches for our Eugene, OR and Kelso, WA area clubs. Eugene is in it's second season and Kelso is in their first season. Our season is from November 9th to early May. (National teams end in June at the AAU National tournament).
Training players in skills and strategy. Teach fundamental volleyball skills: including serving, passing, setting, and defense.
Create practice plans that are engaging, dynamic and furthers players skills
Motivate and support players in a positive manner
Be able to provide constructive feedback to improve players skill and knowledge of the game
Promote a positive, encouraging, inclusive, and safe team dynamic
Ensure the safety and well being of all team members during practices and games
Practices will be twice a week and all day tournaments will be 1-2 a month. Some will be travel tournaments around Oregon and Washington (possibly 1-2 flyaway tournaments depending on team).
Training opportunities for coaches
Coach at additional open gyms, clinics, and camps
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and rules
Ability to lead athletes in a positive manner
Positive and motivating demeanor
Ability to write practice plans and follow through with management of time
Be able to pass a background check and ability to obtain USAV/AAU memberships
The ability to motivate, communicate effectively with players, parents, and administration
Be able to attend practices twice weekly and all tournaments
Prior coaching experience and high level volleyball experience is a plus!
