Job description:

We are seeking a skilled General Manager to oversee the daily operations of "The Richard E Wildish Community Theater"

WCT is a not-for profit corporation, the purpose of which is to provide high quality theater facilities at reasonable prices to assure access and use by a wide variety of not-for-profit performing arts groups and members of the public.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Theater management, hospitality, customer service and be eager to collaborate with local theater groups, bands, lecturers and especially any groups dedicated to helping students of the arts.

The Richard E. Wildish Community Theater (WCT) Job Description: General Manager

Be responsible for financial oversight, including: consistent reports; employee payroll; accounts receivable and payable; and all other financial tasks related to running a non-profit organization.

Supply the Board with information to help create a sustainable annual budget and to make sound fiduciary decisions regarding operations of the theater, including, but not limited to, equipment enhancements and replacements.

Collaborate with the Board in order to plan and conduct fundraising campaigns; write grants;increase rental business; and otherwise contribute positively to the financial health of WCT.

Administer agreements and contracts with customers and vendors.

Maintain accurate records of all contractual and financial activity.

Oversee the governance of WCT as an organization.

Lead and participate in the creation and support of new and existing programs and events that generate outside revenue for the WCT through fundraising and community support.

Develop a working knowledge of WCT’s amenities and features in order to facilitate proper staging for any production based on potential customer’s needs.

Collaborate with the Technical Director and other WCT employees in order to produce the best product possible for WCT clients. Following all IATSE agreements.

Gain a level of competence with WCT’s technical equipment.

Manage crises efficiently, appropriately, and as calmly as possible.

Share House Management duties with other staff including, but not limited to, supervising night-of-show activities, front of house operations, patron ingress/egress, security, seating, and ticketing.

Provide great internal and external customer service for a variety of customers (from one-time clients to WCT’s resident companies), staff, vendors, Board members, the public, and other downtown business owners.

Hire, supervise, and hold theater staff accountable to high performance standards.

Conduct reviews of WCT staff members on an annual basis.

Base any wage raises on annual reviews, and submit recommendations for raises to the Board for approval.

Foster a culture of teamwork among WCT employees, and cultivate a shared goal of outstanding customer service to all clients.

Direct scheduling and staff allocation in order to meet the needs of clients.

Nurture productive business relations by putting excellent communications and organizational skills to use.

Collaborate with the Board to advance a forward-thinking strategy for bookings at WCT.

Participate with the Board to help create a successful future for WCT through excellent strategic planning, goal-setting, and annual retreats.

Lead WCT to success!

Work with the Board to develop an agenda for, and schedule, an annual retreat.

Skills

- Proficiency in Theater preparation and marketing techniques

- Experience in promotion and collaboration with local theater non - profits

- Strong training development skills for staff members

- Knowledge of local theater needs, operations, and event management

- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to motivate staff effectively

- Understanding of Theater management best practices and industry trends
