We have been professionally installing lights in the Rogue Valley since 2014, formerly as Christmas Lights by Brotherhood Painting. We do hundreds of installations every year and have a super great reputation for quality and customer service. We do everything from residential to major installations for Rogue Valley municipalities and many businesses.

About the Installer Position

You will be installing Christmas Lights on homes and businesses - on roofs, trees and on the ground - with me, the owner. I really enjoy hanging Christmas lights, but it's nice to have a sidekick. In addition to installing with me, you will be responsible for the company's maintenance calls. So you would work alongside me in the daytime and then, when it comes up, have to squeeze in a trip out to a job that might have something going wrong.

90% of the time it's just a bulb has gone out and 90% of those calls are just getting up there and tightening the bulb. But occasionally there are blow-downs from the weather or other issues. It's pretty rare that any serious electrical troubleshooting is necessary.

We offer our clients a 24 hour maintenance guarantee so that means you need to be able to respond to each call within 24 hours. You will get a notice through our system, along with a description of the issue and all the info you need and you just need to get out there and fix it up to keep our customers happy all the way through Christmas Eve.

Description of Duties

Installation Description: Learn all the different techniques of installing professional Christmas Lights! Install lights along rooflines and ridgelines, staple lights to trim, wrap trees in various ways, potentially including some work on a boom lift. Various other things such as light stakes, bushes, etc.

Schedule

The schedule is a little different because I homeschool my kids on Mondays and Tuesdays. So we will be installing Wednesday through Saturday - 8 to 6pm. 4 long days.

You can handle maintenance calls during the day at whatever time works best depending on our location, etc, as long as they are handled within 24 hours.

Since we do give a 24 hour notice (between Thanksgiving and 9pm Christmas Eve), you will need to be on call on the other days of the week in case a maintenance call comes in.

Work will start the week of November 3 and continue until there is no more work - usually around December 10th or so.

Skills and Requirements

No previous experience in Christmas lights or electrical systems required. Will train.

Comfortable with ladder work and on roofs. Most of the calls will not require you to go on the roof, but occasionally, they will.

Ability to handle every call within 24 hours, no exceptions, no excuses.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Dependable transportation that can carry a ladder on the roof

Ability to work weekends and evenings if required

No out of town plans between November 3 and Christmas. Must be in the area and on call for this whole period of time.

Compensation

Installation Pay - Starting at $20/hour. Potential up to $25/hour quickly if you catch on quickly and are very competent on roofs, etc.

Maintenance Pay: $20/hour including drive time plus reimbursement for mileage according to Oregon requirements.
