Provide maintenance and repair coverage for 1st shift to ensure production equipment remains reliable, safe, and fully operational. The Maintenance Technician performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, maintaining compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & TroubleshootingObserve machine operation, error messages, and operator feedback to identify root causes of malfunctions.Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose faults.Troubleshoot and repair complex servo drive systems (e.g., Siemens, Fanuc, Bosch Indramat).Diagnose and replace SCRs, IGBTs, diodes, transistor packs, and other electronic components.Conduct electrical measurements using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage testers; interpret readings to determine faults and corrective actions.Perform repairs, adjustments, alignments, and component replacements to restore machine performance.Coordinate advanced repairs with OEM or external service technicians as needed.Verify repair effectiveness with operators or process engineers and document all activities in CMMS.Preventive & Predictive MaintenanceExecute preventive maintenance per established schedules and standard procedures.Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection checklists, and part usage documentation.Support predictive maintenance initiatives such as vibration analysis, thermal checks, and lubrication programs.Plan and execute maintenance activities efficiently to minimize production interruptions.Installation, Relocation & Electrical WorkAssist in the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new or relocated production equipment.Install conduit, wiring, and electrical hookups in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E standards.Ensure equipment is properly leveled, aligned, and requalified after installation or relocation.Perform all electrical and mechanical work following proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energy isolation procedures.Safety & ComplianceDemonstrate strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, LOTO, arc-flash, and NFPA 70E safety practices.Identify and mitigate safety hazards associated with maintenance, electrical, and mechanical work.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with 5S and company standards.Actively promote and model safe work habits and adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies.Continuous Improvement & CommunicationCommunicate equipment conditions, improvement ideas, and repair priorities to supervision and peers.Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring equipment or process issues.Support initiatives that improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and lower maintenance costs.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong electrical and mechanical background, including AC/DC systems up to 480 V 3-phaseProficiency in troubleshooting VFDs, servo motors and controllers, sensors, switches, relays, and automation systemsSolid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systemsSkilled in the use of diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, high-voltage testers, multimeters)Knowledge of electrical work hazards, PPE requirements, and safe work practices under OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S and NFPA 70EProficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems for documentation and communicationSafe and proper use of hand and power toolsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAbility to remain calm and effective under pressureWillingness to work overtime, emergency calls, and limited weekends as required
