Dedicated Sales Associate – Family-Run Hardware Store (Manhattan)

We are a family-run retail hardware store on the Upper East Side seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and dependable Sales Associate to join our team. If you have a passion for customer service, retail hardware experience, and want to grow with a tight-knit local business, this role is for you!

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Pay: $16–$20/hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide professional service. Treat every request seriously—whether large or small. Handle phone orders and assist customers with purchases.

Merchandising & Maintenance: Keep sales floor stocked and products displayed neatly at all times. Strong product knowledge across a wide range of hardware items is key.

Physical Requirements: Unload and stock materials, carry boxes and building supplies, and assist with store upkeep. Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours a day and lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications:

Previous retail hardware experience strongly preferred.

Proven sales ability and strong customer service skills.

Reliability, enthusiasm, and willingness to be hands-on with all aspects of store operations.
