Mosquito Abatement Tech - paid to drive & exercise

Mosquito Jim is a family owned pest control company that does 98% one thing - residential mosquito treatments. MJ is searching for a part-time technician to learn and cover customer routes. The job entails walking through yards with a backpack sprayer and applying treatments to trees and bushes. Then drive to the next house and do it again. It can get hot and repetitious, and there is some heavy lifting involved, but it can also be very peaceful work. You can pretty much set the hours that work for you from 9am until dark Monday-Thursday. We believe in long weekends and letting our customers enjoy them without accommodating a mosquito company. You do not need to do sales or billing. Just run the routes and enjoy the peace. The business is 95% contactless; you never see the customer most of the time.

The mosquito season runs from late April until mid-late September. Our current tech had a change in their full time job and has to leave. He currently works 5 shifts of about 5-7 hours over a 3 week treatment cycle. This is a fairly light part time commitment, but you can combine routes if your stamina and schedule allow after you are trained. The candidate will hopefully learn the business at the end of this season and return in 2026 and work more as we scale the business. Promotion to general manager is also possible in time. The season is likely going to end in 6-8 weeks.

Compensation is hourly and will increase because you will get faster at the job the more you understand it. You will be rewarded for efficiency without compromising quality. You are likely on camera most of the time from home security systems. You must be able to commute to south Overland Park to pick up the service vehicle.
