Emergency Medical Technician Basic (Iraq)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will assist nurses and paramedics with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care to patients. With the support of paramedics and clinical staff the EMT will utilize their expertise of evidenced based medical practice to manage unexpected and emergent situations and to mitigate and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, the ability to work in high-pressure environments, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:Administer first aid and medical assistance within the EMT scope of practice. Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the nature and extent of patients' condition. Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history and prescribed medications.  Maintains inventory by checking stock and determining sufficient levels; anticipating needed supplies. Crosstrain to work within the clinics, emergency room and inpatient units. Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.   This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
