Entry-Level Geologist – Remediation - Networking Event with AECOM – Boston, MA

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist to be based in our Chelmsford, MA or Boston, MA office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.This position is expected to begin June 2026, but that date is flexible.Job Overview:The Entry-Level Geologist will provide field and office support on projects and will develop strong relationships with project managers and other technical personnel. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with members of the project team, clients, site personnel, and regulators, and work both independently and as part of a project team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to health and safety and will be prepared to deliver work which meets the expectations of AECOM’s quality standards.The job responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment; prepare samples for shipping, and complete chain-of-custody forms or similar paperworkConduct geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of drilling and excavation subcontractorsAnalyze laboratory and field data, compare findings to relevant local, state and federal standards, and produce basic scientific documents including technical reportsCoordinate with task and project managers; work with on-site subcontractors and field staff; and support sampling, data collection, and field documentationLearn and develop a keen understanding of hazards associated with environmental investigation and remediationMaintain flexibility to work on diverse projects and willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally outside of the region within the U.S.
