The Trade Compliance Specialist will play a critical role on the SDI legal team, ensuring the company maintains the highest standards of compliance across our global operations. Reporting to the Director of Trade Compliance and Security, this role leverages hands-on execution to navigate the complex landscape of international trade regulations, US Export Controls, and other compliance matters. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and continuously improving company-wide policies and procedures that protect the organization while enabling business growth in highly regulated markets. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to translate regulatory changes into actionable business practices, conduct risk assessments, and build a culture of compliance awareness throughout the organization.

Essential functions—essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job. Job duties to include but are not limited to;Partner with the Director of Trade Compliance and Security to maintain, update, and continuously evolve the Company’s comprehensive regulatory compliance and corporate policies and procedures across global operationsWork in coordination with our other Trade Compliance Analyst to build initiatives, including the creation, review, and implementation of policies and procedures resulting from regulatory changesApply and interpret audit and compliance requirements for various departmentsMonitor compliance workstreams within the businessConduct thorough due diligence on international customers, business partners, and transactions to ensure compliance with export control requirementsEnforce robust control systems and consistent approaches to address violations of legal rules and internal policiesMaintaining restricted party screening proceduresPerform regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvementPrepare and file required regulatory reports and documentation with appropriate agencies Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs and processes for staff across all departments and geographic locations
