Learn more about us at: https://www.dcof.comThe Dental Assistant will be responsible for the fabrication of quality prosthetic denture products in accordance with established protocols and specifications.  This includes reading prescriptions or specifications and examining models or impressions to determine the design of dental products to be constructed.  Testing appliances for conformance to specifications and accuracy of occlusion, using articulators and micrometers.Key ResponsibilitiesAbility to use various tools and equipment in a lab environment:  trimmers, grinders, lathes, articulators and cleaning devicesTake impressions and pour modelsComplete denture set-up and finishing workCollaborate with dentist and other members of the dental team to ensure a proper fit and function of the prostheticUse a software to digitally design denture casesHandle and maintain 3D printer materials and equipmentPost-processing (cleaning) and finishing of dental appliancesFabricate crowns and bridgesManufacture fixed or removable appliancesKeep the lab orderly and stockedComplete documentation of actions by filling out forms, reports, logs, and recordsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentPost high school certification in dental assisting or dental lab1-2 years of working experience within dentures and dental labs, preferred but not necessary. 4-5 years of experience in a dental setting, preferred but not necessary. Skills such as arts/crafts, detailed painting, sewing, jewelry making and pottery; tasks that require details hand eye coordination will be helpful in excelling in this position. Clear and concise oral communication skills with English proficiencyEasily understand and communicate written and verbal directions Documentation skillsAbility to work in a team settingHigh level of attention to detail and organization skillsAbility to follow detailed directions without difficultyCompensation: $20-25/hrAdditional information:We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.  Working Environment & Physical Requirements  This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
