PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR A RESEARCH STUDY AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

(Psychiatry Department)

We are conducting a 12-week clinical trial to see if the medication Guanfacine XR (an FDA approved drug used to treat ADHD) vs. a placebo (sugar pill) can help reduce alcohol craving and drinking.

A potential subject:

Is 18 years or older

Struggles with alcohol use

Is Male or Female

If Eligible, your participation will include:

Stop by for 2-3 in person visits to complete a physical & answer some questionnaires

Be randomly assigned to either guanfacine or placebo

Completing daily tasks (short surveys, urine screening, and medication intake) remotely

Attending 2 brief remote visits each week for 12 weeks

In appreciation of your time you can receive up to $1,300 (based on participation)
