Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to support a major hospitality and entertainment development currently underway in Chicago. This on-site / in-office high-profile project includes hotel, entertainment, dining, and public space components, and is progressing through a multi-year construction timeline. The successful candidate will act as the key day-to-day client interface, ensuring that project objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.Success in this position requires excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. You’ll provide leadership and direction while promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend. Responsibilities: Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.Review and collaborate with design and construction teams to develop cost estimates.Reconcile changes and assist in ensuring accurate contractor data.Prepare cost estimate updates and written commentary on contractor submissions.Coordinate cost information from various sources for stakeholder discussions.Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.Resolve scheduling issues proactively with minimal supervision.Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects.Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.Track cost impact, contingency, and commitments.Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions.Develop cost plans and estimates through design milestones.Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.Review contractor pricing and lead negotiations to ensure fair contract values.Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure effective cost auditing, validation, and reporting processes.Produce monthly cost reports and finalize accounts in a timely manner.Compile built cost estimate records for benchmarking.Mentor and coach team members, celebrating success and fostering growth.Display excellence in leadership and service delivery.Utilize internal software for financial tracking and forecasting.Implement and maintain internal business systems and delivery methodologies.Promote a one-business culture that balances outcomes for people, clients, and society.SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
