Sous Chef

Sous Chef wanted for Lower Keys landmark restaurant. Mangrove Mama's is one of the oldest buildings in the Keys, located at MM20. The new owners began rebuilding 2 years ago, and we are now growing rapidly and seeking a qualified and responsible individual for a long-term position as Sous Chef that will eventually become Head Chef in 3-5 years.

We are seeking a low drama individual. Must speak fluent English as well as have the ability to speak passable kitchen Spanish or Haitian Creole, or the ability to use a translator throughout the day.

The perfect candidate will have a culinary degree or a minimum of 2 years kitchen management experience; however, we are willing to train the right person and encourage anyone interested to apply. Must be cool under pressure and quality minded. Must be able to manage others and take control of the kitchen when the chef is not in. Must be able to perform any kitchen function. Must be willing to learn and grow. Must have a valid food handler card. Must have reliable transportation.

Salary/Hourly wage is negotiable depending on experience. Working hours/days off are also negotiable, however the position will require evenings and weekends.
