H & J Contracting, Inc. is hiring a Construction Project Manager
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing projects from planning through completion and ensuring client satisfaction by delivering unparalleled service. Provides overall project management support for multiple projects or on one very large project.

Job Responsibilities:
Keep informed of all project activity to monitor project schedule and construction. Notify VP of Operations on any changes which significantly impact the project completion date, cost, or quality.
Complete all project reports accurately and in a timely manner to include Project Status Report, financial reports, and project schedules.
Participate in staff meetings to review progress of project. Assure safety meetings and minutes thereof are documented in project files.
Perform final review of construction on projects to include the review of bid documents, review of bid procedures, review of sub/vendor qualifications, and review of final estimates and labor and material takeoffs.
Procure all materials and subcontractors for the project in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
Prepare and submit change orders for final approval.
Close project including submittal of all warranty information, affidavits, record drawings, final retainage payments, releases and accounting-related documents.
Review and/or price work orders and submits to accounting for final billing after client approval. Ensure subcontractors are notified of all work order documentation.
Review subcontractor/vendor invoices for approval/reduction/rejection.
Maintain working relationships with clients, architects and engineers associated with project.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
University Degree in a related subject and/or work experience preferred
Valid Driver’s License and clean background.
2 to 3 years planning and/or management experience preferred
5 years’ preferred experience in total site development.
Core competencies for the candidate must include but not be limited to strong organizational skills, multitasking, scheduling, billing / budgeting experience.
Candidate will be the primary liaison between contractor and client.
Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of standard software, Excel, Word, etc.
Understanding of financial management and analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
First Aid/CPR/AED certificate. preferred
30- Hour OSHA preferred
GC License preferred
PROFICIENCY IN THE USE OF COMPUTERS FOR:
Word processing
CAD experience a plus but not required
Simple accounting
Data base management
Microsoft Office
E-mail/Outlook
Internet
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
