Job Summary: eCoin(R) is a revolutionary class III implantable product to treat OAB and is geared towards disrupting the pelvic health implantable marketplace. With the recent PMA approval, Valencia Technologies is ramping up high volume manufacturing as well as developing the next generation product that will provide a rich feature set and improved capabilities for patients and clinicians. The mechanical engineer position is targeted towards finding the right candidate for being part of this dynamic and talented team and take the product to the next level where a reliable and effective therapy can be reached to many patients in need.

Responsibilities/Tasks: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Being an integral part of the design team at VTC to develop the next generation eCoin system. This involves concept development, implementing the concept to evaluate feasibility, designing the product and verify/validate to the requirements/user needs

Creating designs from early concepts that address DfM/DfT concerns

Participating in quality tasks related to returned product assessment, failure analysis, and assist the teams in the process

Creating documents for all R&D product development and manufacturing deployment

Participating and leading design reviews at all design phases

Living by the values of VTC as part of the daily work

Duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Qualifications:

Highly proficient with SolidWorks Environment. Demonstrated capability to design new products, product accessories, manufacturing fixtures and tools, quality assurance mechanisms, to support NPI

Thorough understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis and creating acceptance limits for design components.

Practical experience of designing Class III medical device implants and associated accessories is preferred

Ability to identify design challenges and resolve in a comprehensive fashion with MVP (Minimum Viable Product) demonstration during feasibility phase

Working experience with failure analysis, root-cause determination and non-conformance/CAPA systems

Exhibited leadership in creating/pioneering new designs based on user needs and requirements

Familiar with risk assessment of design for ensuring long-term reliability

Ability to work independently and lead design efforts

Good verbal communication skills and via documents to various stakeholders at different points of design life cycle. Stakeholders vary from Clinical, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Quality

Prior experience to transfer products from design phase to manufacturing

Demonstration of DfT (Design for Test) and DfM (Design for Manufacturability) in designs throughout

Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and relevant ASTM standards is a must.
