We are an aviation company in search of a qualified and responsible Mechanical Engineer.
Candidate will be responsible for designing, developing testing and supporting mechanical systems, components, and processes to meet customer regulatory, and organizational requirements. This role must ensure product reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards (ASME, ASTM, SAE, and applicable aerospace/defense specifications.)
Duties and responsibilities:
-Assures the execution of procedure to assure that quality products are manufactured according to customer specifications.
-Directs the start-up of new production process buy working with manufacturing personnel.
-Analyzes customer engineering design documents and/or prototypes and determine methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, etc. which are required to fabricate the product.
-Support chemical processing, composite bonding, and metal to metal assembly requirements when applicable.
-Perform root cause analysis on failures ans recommend corrective actions.
-Directs and coordinates all activities necessary to complete a major project or several intermediate projects. Ensures systems are in place to monitor progress.
-May serve as liaison for specific projects between functional departments, i.e. Material Management, Manufacturing and Estimating when deciding methods of manufacturing, blueprints tolerance, material and contracts on technical guidance to customer of product deficiencies.
-Partner with quality assurance, Program Management, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues.
-Maintains relationships professional organizations to ensure skills and information base remain current.
-Work with customers and suppliers to review requirements and ensure deliverables are met.
-Participates in risk analysis, and design reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
-Ensures that all department schedules and corporate commitment are achieved.
-Carries out such general responsibilities as may be delegated by supervision and or management.
Job Specifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering plus 3 years experience in metal to metal honeycomb bonded structures and composite structures. Knowledge of sheet metal machinery brakes, shears, stretch dies, hydro-form dies, etc. and in composite and metal materials using bonding and mechanical fastening techniques.
Establishing background in aircraft design practices plus in depth knowledge of aerospace industry and QA procedures and practices (AS9100)
Knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD); knowledge of project scheduling software; knowledge of spreadsheets and work processing.

Work Environment:
