We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and pro-active customer service & sales manager w/ great organizational skills, communication etiquette, and top English abilities to work in a long term work relationship in our young driven sporting goods distribution and retail company who is primarily on online marketplaces.
First, the responsibility will start with being our dedicated customer service expert, who will be answering customers by phone or online sales channels in all marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart.com, websites, as well as our showroom in town. This means taking care of any requests, follow ups, finding information , and responding our customers promptly. This also entails finding problems with shipping, finding tracking numbers, update customers with news, or updates, proactively, and staying within our SOPs.
Later, the position has the potential to move further into e.g. a sales manager role, helping our wholesale customers in the US, and/or maybe into a more administrative role. Our goal is to have a dedicated manager for these tasks, who can later (again potentially) grow a bigger team with more customer service or sales managers underneath her/him.
The first challenge will be to learn about the broad variety of our products thoroughly, researching answers to questions, using our resources and team, and learning our processes and products quickly.
The second challenge will be to understand our highly complex system of drop shippers, multiple warehouses, and systems. You will be required to learn our multitude of software platforms very quickly, solving errors (for instance: why hasn't this order shipped), and dealing with order management, while being in touch with the customers pro-actively - not reactively - possibly upselling or guiding them with buying recommendations or warranty claims.
So, we are seeking a very organized proficient person here locally for this role, someone who has done customer service before and knows how to deal with customers in a friendly and positive way. This expects you to also work well with multiple layers of interaction, with a detailed mind, be computer and software experienced, and have good organizational skills who can also answer the phone in the office with a friendly and dedicated manner on a consistent basis.
Here are some key responsibilities and expectations:
1. You will be given access to our sales channels, and you will take care of our online shops correspondence, from day one. This will include a few hours on the weekend from home on Sat/Sun in exchange for a few hours less during the week. Regular hours can only be done in the office, as we have no interest in more people working from home.
2. You will then be given suppliers information, system flows, processes, and someone who will help you through the work flow. You will also process warranties and solve technical issues during orders or for warranties.
3. You will work long term with us. In this way, you will improve with knowledge about products and lines, even grow into learning about advantages, and get more efficient with replying to customers etc. A background in sporting goods, especially bicycling, but also skateboarding, quad skating, etc is a must, because you will need to understand products and customers quickly.
4. You will get a lot of tools and resources. What we don't give you is energy, enthusiasm, common sense, and proactive thinking. So, researching products on your own, finding answers, asking questions, using our tools and systems as well as AI, and showing no issues with MS Office is important to us. 5. We will have a team to help you get through questions and start with small tasks to grow your responsibilities. Anything else you can bring to the table will be a plus so we can incorporate more tasks to you.
6. In the near future, you can grow into other areas of the company, in which you help us with managing our wholesale customers, big dealers, or even small dealers, or grow a team.
7. In this entire process, you will have to be open to learn and do other tasks not listed here, such as helping to ship items, setting up the office, organizing shelves, or counting products. We all do what it takes to succeed, and we all wear different hats, and you have to be fine with that or please don't apply for this job.

Who we are:
We have been in business for over ten years, went through ups and downs, and we have a small team locally here in Ventura yet more people outside working with us. Currently, we are dealing with over 20 brands, and over 5,000 SKUs that need immediate attention on Amazon, eBay, and Shopify carts. We are shipping out of our own warehouse, we use FBA as well as FBM domestically and internationally, and we have more to come.
This is an ongoing long term job, for which we seek a long term solution and someone we can trust. Ideally, we would love to work with this person for many years to come to improve overall communication, responsibilities, pay, etc.
