JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of the Clinical Research Coordinator is to help coordinate the conduct of clinical research protocols in an on-site clinical setting with an emphasis on the screening, enrollment and the monitoring of subjects/participants. This position is completely patient facing meaning the ideal candidate will be medically trained and skilled in ECGs, Vitals, Laboratory specimen collection, venipunctures and subsequent processing/packaging/shipping.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties and responsibilities include:

Responsible for all patient facing activities.

Serves as study coordinator for research protocols in clinic setting.

Helps direct the conduct of patients to ensure adherence to the research protocol and provides updates to Principal Investigator on study progress.

Screens subject records, databases, and physician referral summaries for identification of prospective candidates for research protocols.

Interviews and educates prospective human subjects for participation in investigations and obtains informed consent.

Develops study binders for assigned protocols to outline guidelines for protocol compliance and to assure complete source documentation.

Coordinates the collection of data according to the research protocol, operations manual, and case report form guidelines within the budgetary guidelines.

Draws, prepares, and ships laboratory samples for clinical trials.

Performs EKGs, Vitals, Assessments, Spirometry and other procedures as directed by study Protocol.

Documents research related examinations, procedures, tests, and other activities in appropriate clinic binders.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs a variety of clerical duties including: composing correspondence, word processing, photocopying, filing, faxing, mailing assembling, and distributing forms, manuals and informational packets.

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

· Ability to operate basic office equipment.

· Ability to operate laboratory equipment.
